Dental marketing companies in Canada: how to compare them

Most “best dental marketing agency” lists rank the company that wrote them first. This one gives you the scoring rubric instead: seven questions you can put to any agency, including us.

Why a rubric

The hard part isn't finding an agency. It's telling them apart.

If you run a Canadian practice and you're choosing a marketing company, every site you visit says roughly the same things. A ranked list only the author can verify doesn't help. So this page gives you seven questions that separate a good fit from an expensive mistake. Apply them to anyone you're considering.

Full disclosure: Increase Web Marketing is one of those companies. We put our own answers under the same seven questions further down, with facts you can check. We say nothing about what any other named company does, because that changes and you should check it yourself.

The rubric

Seven questions to ask every dental marketing company

Score each answer: 2 for a clear yes you can verify, 1 for a partial or vague answer, 0 for a no or a dodge. The ones worth hiring answer straight.

  1. 011. Is it priced on cost per new patient?Ask what number they report and get paid against. Green flag: cost per new patient or cost per booked consultation. Red flag: rankings, traffic or “impressions” as the headline.
  2. 022. Are prices published?Ask for a starting price before the first call. Green flag: a number on their site. Red flag: “contact us for a quote” on everything.
  3. 033. Is it month to month?Ask what happens if you want to leave after three months. Green flag: you can leave with reasonable notice. Red flag: a 6- or 12-month contract before any results.
  4. 044. Does tracking live in your own accounts?Ask whose analytics and ad accounts the reports come from. Green flag: yours, with access you keep. Red flag: a dashboard only they control.
  5. 055. Who directs the account?Ask who builds the plan and who you talk to each month. Green flag: the senior person making decisions. Red flag: an account manager relaying messages to a team you never meet.
  6. 066. Do they know healthcare ad rules?Dental advertising answers to professional regulators, and the rules on claims and testimonials differ by province. Green flag: they raise it before you do. Red flag: before-and-after promises or invented patient quotes.
  7. 077. Can you verify their dental proof?Ask for named practices and what was done for them. Green flag: real names and a source for every number. Red flag: “a client saw 300%” with nothing to check.

How to use it

Scoring an agency in one call

  1. Send the seven questions by email before the call and ask for written answers.
  2. Score each answer 0, 1 or 2. A total under 9 means the risk sits with you.
  3. Check the two you can verify yourself: the published price and the named clients.
  4. Ask what the first month looks like, and whether tracking goes in before spend goes up.

Whatever the scores say, watch for three red flags: a long lock-in before any results, ranking claims you can't verify, and a results-by-a-date promise. No honest agency promises a timeline for results.

Where we fit

How Increase Web Marketing scores itself

Our own answers, each one something you can check. Our dental marketing program runs on these terms.

  1. 011. Priced on cost per new patientYes. Our plans and reports are built around your cost per acquisition, reported monthly against last month. That applies to SEO for dentists and to Google Ads for dentists alike.
  2. 022. Published pricesYes. Plans from $1,200/mo CAD, $2,500 and $5,000, with one-time options from $400. Our pricing page lists what changes the price: locations, competition, content volume, ad spend and services.
  3. 033. Month to monthYes. No lock-in, and a one-page plan for your market before you pay.
  4. 044. Tracking in your accountsYes. Reports come from your own analytics and ad accounts. Content, sites and accounts are yours once paid.
  5. 055. Who directs the accountCorey directs every account, backed by a core team and specialists matched to the work. Read how we answer the “who does the work” question.
  6. 066. Healthcare ad rulesWe keep copy to verifiable facts: no health promises, no outcome claims, no patient data in ads or reports.
  7. 077. Verifiable dental proofWe name London Dental Specialists (London, UK) and Cedar Park Dental Wellness (Texas) and describe the scope of work for each. We publish outcome numbers only with a period and a source.

Which fit is right

Match the agency to the stage of your practice

New practice, tight budget

Start with one channel done well: local SEO and a complete Google Business Profile, or one tight ad campaign. Keep it month to month.

Established, one location

SEO as the asset that keeps working, ads for the searches you need now, both measured on cost per new patient.

Multi-location or a group

The full stack with one page per intent, so locations don't compete, and attribution across channels.

Whichever stage you're at, put us through the same seven questions. If we don't score well for your practice, we'll say so.
